Gundersen Health System is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for our Clinic Float Pool. This is your opportunity to have variety in your day while doing the work you love in the beautiful coulee region of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
What you will do:
- Fulfill 56 hours per two weeks; 0.7 FTE
- Work 8-hour day shifts between the hours of 0800-1630, Monday through Friday with no weekends, holidays, or call obligations.
- Provide LOVE + MEDICINE to our patients seeking care in our primary care and specialty care departments on our La Crosse and Onalaska campuses.
- Clinic Float Pool RNs are able to expand their nursing knowledge with a well-constructed orientation and be supported to explore areas of interest. There are many opportunities for growth, including project work and committee representation.

What you will need:
- Minimum of associate degree in nursing
- RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire.
- RN licensure to practice in the state of Minnesota and Iowa within 3 months of hire.

Job Description:
The registered nurse (RN) focuses on the health and wellness of individuals, families and populations in collaboration with other health care professionals by incorporating evidence-based practice in the management of acute illness, chronic disease, disability, and end-of-life care. The RN utilizes the nursing process and aligns practice with organizational policies, professional nursing standards and regulatory practice acts.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Systematically and holistically assesses the patient's physiological, emotional, sociocultural, spiritual, and financial status while considering lifestyle preferences and learning needs.
- Planning: Collaborates with patients, families, and health care professionals to develop a patient-centered plan of care to promote health and optimize wellness.
- Intervention: Provides competent and innovative patient care and education based on patient complexity, acuity, and nursing judgment within a culture of caring and safety.
- Documentation: Documents nursing assessment, planning, interventions, implementation, and patient/family response.
- Evaluation: Determines patient's progress toward achieving goal(s), and revises plan of care in collaboration with patient/family as needed.
- Delegation and Supervision: The RN delegates, supervises, and evaluates the effectiveness of tasks performed by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP).
- Leadership: Guides, directs and influences others by participating in activities such as quality improvement, evidence-based practice and research.
- Professional and Organizational Responsibilities: Accepts accountability, elicits feedback, clarifies issues and concerns and works toward resolving problems or conflicts.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED: Associate degree in Nursing.
DESIRED: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Work Experience:
REQUIRED: No experience required.
DESIRED: 6 months of previous experience in nursing.
License and Certifications:
REQUIRED: Registered Nurse (RN) licensed minimally in the state of practice.
